Abstract

This article thoroughly analyzes the role of the Multi-Party Interim Appeal Arbitration Arrangement (MPIA) mechanism in resolving international trade disputes. The MPIA system, created to fill the gap created as a result of the non-operation of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Appeals Board since December 2019, is becoming an important element of the modern mechanism for resolving international trade disputes. Within the framework of the study, the legal framework, structure of institutions, principles of activity, and practical implementation of the MPIA were studied in detail. The differences, advantages, and disadvantages of this mechanism from the traditional WTO dispute resolution system were also analyzed. The article highlights the new opportunities and future development prospects created by the IPIA in the field of resolving international trade disputes.
